Museum Awards:

RAMP-ARTS award (given
to DCM staff Clemens and MacRae) for a commitment to work with people
with disabilities. Presented in January 2005 from the city of Naperville,
Mayor's Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities.

Accessibility Award
from the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association in June 2003.
The museum is the first agency not a park district to receive the
award!

Listed under 2 categories in "Best
of the West" issue of West Suburban Living magazine,
April 2003. The Museum was listed as "Best Local Museum"
and as one of the "Best Place To Take Kids".

Given the "Exemplary Partnership Award"
by Naperville School District #203 at the Business/Community/Education
Partnership Breakfast in March 2003 for work with Washington Jr.
High School.

The Museum was awarded the Distinguished
Building Award in 2003 by the Chicago chapter of the American

Article "Children's Museum Reaches
Out", an article about how the Museum uses visual
tools to reach out to children with autism. Written by Sandy Trusewych,
the Museum's Community Access Coordinator, the article was published
in the November/December 2002 issue of Autism/Aspergers Digest .

President Bush presented the USA Freedom
Corp award for Volunteerism Dick Treadway, a Museum volunteer
in July 2002.
