Summer 2008 MINI-CAMPS!

The Museum offers three specialty day camps to choose from, all open to children ages 7-10 (must have completed first grade),
each featuring 3 consecutive half-days of skill-building fun.

Hurry! Early Registration Discount through May 30:
$80 Members / $90 Nonmembers

Registration fees after May 30:
$90 Members / $100 Nonmembers

  • All camps are open to children ages 7-10.
  • Minimum 10 per class, maximum 15 per class.
  • Children do not need an adult partner to participate. An adult must drop the child off and pick the child up at the room.
  • A snack will be provided.
  • Museum floor time during program is included and will be supervised by Museum staff and volunteers.
  • Unlike other classes, registration for mini-camps closes two weeks prior to the start of each mini-camp.

Electric Explorers: Electrify your summer with lights, buzzers and motors in our amazing camp that explores circuits, electricity and magnetism! Learn what makes things work then use your newly-gained knowledge to design and create your very own electricity project.  SKILLS DEVELOPED: Creativity, sequencing, fine motor skills and knowledge of engineering science.

Cardboard Carpentry: Measure twice, cut once! Girls and boys enjoy working with real tools and learn some carpentry basics while creating a useable piece of furniture from super-thick cardboard. SKILLS DEVELOPED: Creativity, sequencing, fine motor skills and knowledge of carpentry basics. SORRY, CARDBOARD CARPENTRY IS SOLD OUT.

Cool Chemical Concoctions:  Amaze yourself by making concoctions that change color, bubble, fizz and ooze. Experience science as fun, learn new terms and see what it’s like to be a chemist!  SKILLS DEVELOPED: Creativity, sequencing, fine motor skills and knowledge of chemical science. Cancellation Policies for all DCM Classes:

  • No portion of enrollment fee will be refunded as of the day the class begins.
  • Registrants withdrawing one week prior to the start of the class will be charged a 50% administrative fee.
  • Registrants withdrawing prior to the week before the class will be charged a 25% administrative fee.
