DuPage Children’s Museum Announces 2007 Snowflake Social
Naperville, IL – A snowstorm starts with a single snowflake dancing down to earth. Each snowflake is unique, and together, they become a swirling storm that changes the way we experience our world. Similarly, Museum staff and volunteers are unique and have different talents that together contribute to the lives of visitors and members of all ages. At DuPage Children’s Museum (DCM) a single volunteer can make a big difference for many children in our community, and when volunteers come together, the possibilities and joys are endless.
In this spirit, DuPage Children’s Museum announces that all of its current volunteers of all ages, and their families, are invited as special guests to enjoy the Museum’s 20th Anniversary Snowflake Social on Wednesday, December 5, from 3:45 - 6:15 p.m. RSVPs are requested, and the event is free.
The Snowflake Social is an annual year-end celebration for current Museum volunteers and their families to come have some fun, share some laughs with the staff and participate in this day of recognition and appreciation for the many things they have accomplished together during the past year.
This year the Social will include a special performance by the NNHS Madrigal Singers and a Jester in Renaissance costumes, fun and educational activities for children, gifts, door prizes and festive foods and treats donated by the Museum Directors, Kubit2me, Jewel-Osco, Bakers Square and Anderson’s Bookstore!

DUPAGE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM:
DuPage Children's Museum helps kids learn how to succeed. Throughout any given day, about 1000 visitors come through the Big Red Door of the Museum in Naperville, Illinois to engage in 3 floors of hands-on activities. It is a playful, fun environment where children 6 months to 10 years old and the important adults in their lives learn and play together in thoughtfully planned “neighborhoods”, with exhibits and programs designed to promote skill development in math, science and the arts. It is designed to prepare kids for a future where curiosity, creative thinking, imaginative problem solving and learning skills will be needed to interact with technology that is yet to be invented, to solve problems we can’t imagine and work in new kinds of jobs that don’t exist today.
2007 is an Imagination Celebration of the importance of play for DuPage Children’s Museum, a top Chicago area cultural attraction, celebrating 20 years as the place where learning comes in to play™! The Museum is a non-profit organization and depends on donations and sponsorships for over $4 of every $10 of its annual budget. Your media support helps us reach families and makes a difference in the lives of thousands of children in our community. Thank you for all you do!
