Honorary Chairperson Brenda C. Barnes

Invites You to the “Back to the Future Ball” April 26th

DuPage Children’s Museum, a top Chicagoland cultural attraction, and Honorary Chairperson Brenda C. Barnes (Chairman and CEO of the Sara Lee Corporation) invite you to come to Oakbrook to enjoy a fun-filled evening to support programs that help kids learn how to succeed. The Museum’s 2008 gala fundraiser will be held the evening of April 26, 2008 at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort.

You’ll be transported back more than 50 years to Hill Valley High School’s “Enchantment under the Sea” dance for a night of fun. Meet Marty McFly, Doc Brown and even see the DeLorean “time machine”!  The festivities will begin with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and an amazing silent auction filled with hundreds of unique items. Some 500 guests are expected at this one-of-a-kind, spectacular, “Back to the Future” black-tie ball.  Photographers are welcome!

The Museum’s annual gala is known for its uniqueness and creativity and will include drawings, the silent auction and an exhilarating live auction, leading up to musical entertainment from R-Gang, so you can dance the night away!  Set the circuits in your time machine now to save the date for Saturday, April 26, 2008—it will be a truly enchanting experience!

The Museum board, staff and volunteers are assisting with preparations for this very special night. Proceeds from this gala will provide critical community funding for the Museum, located in Naperville, which relies on donations for over $4 of every $10 of its budget each year, to support programs and exhibits that enhance the lives of thousands of children, and will help the Museum further its mission to stimulate curiosity, creativity, thinking, and problem-solving in young children.

To help sponsor this event, reserve a table or reserve your place for dinner, please contact Carol Pawlak at 630-637-8000 ext. 4550 or cpawlak@dupagechildrensmuseum.org.

DUPAGE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM:

DuPage Children's Museum helps kids learn how to succeed.  Throughout any given day, hundreds of visitors come through the Big Red Door of the Museum to engage in three floors of fun, hands-on activities. It is a playful environment where children 6 months to 10 years old and the important adults in their lives learn and play together in thoughtfully planned “neighborhoods”, with exhibits and programs designed to promote skill development in math, science and the arts.  It helps prepare them for a future where curiosity, creative thinking, imaginative problem solving and learning skills will be needed to interact with technology that is yet to be invented, to solve problems we can’t imagine and work in new kinds of jobs that don’t exist today.
