Creative thinking is on a roll this autumn, in the new DCM Interact With Art Gallery exhibit on the upper level!  Come join the fun and get your wheels turning! Children love wheels. Bikes, cars and favorite toys have wheels.  Wheels give us the power to go fast, move big heavy things and ride to places far, far away.  In Wheel Works of Art children can connect with the creative side of familiar wheels. Then, ready to build on that knowledge, discover fantastic moving machines created by some of today’s cutting edge kinetic artists. Wheels make machines work, but it takes a lot of creativity to know how to make a gear turn enough other parts to make a clock run or a CD player play.  Come explore the use of wheels and how they can be used in art.  Appropriate for ages up to 10 years.  Free to DCM members and free with general admission, presented locally by Continental Acura - Audi of Naperville. Ask about our Creativity Programs© for different ages each month—for a complete listing, please visit our web site. Learning Labs enhance skills in math, science or the arts—for group visit information, please call ext. 6150.

It’s DuPage Children's Museum’s 20th Anniversary and Bubble Bash 2007 will be a Blast this year—a fun and excitement-filled family concert featuring the Imagination Movers - rapidly rising stars in the world of children’s entertainment.  It will be so big that we’re bursting out of the Museum!  Featured regularly on Playhouse Disney, the group’s music has been called “intelligently designed, expertly produced, and maddeningly infectious.”  Winners of numerous awards, the Movers feature music that includes positive messages that both kids and grown-ups are sure to love (www.imaginationmovers.com).  The concert will be approximately an hour, followed by the famous DCM Countdown to Noon.

This spectacular daytime New Year’s program is made possible by lead sponsor the Sara Lee Foundation, and will take place in downtown Aurora’s intriguing Paramount Theatre.  Other sponsors include First National Bank of Naperville, Glancer Magazine, Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Naperville and the Explorer Store at DuPage Children's Museum. Reservations are required.  Tickets make wonderful holiday gifts and are available from the Paramount Box Office at 630-896-6666 (you’ll receive a brochure that includes a parking pass, coupons and general information).  Proceeds help support new exhibits and programs at the Museum.  Seating is reserved. Ticket Prices:   Adult - $20, Child - $15 (Children under 2 with lap pass tickets are free.)

DUPAGE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM:

DuPage Children’s Museum, a top Chicagoland cultural attraction, is a not-for-profit organization celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2007—an imagination celebration of the importance of play, as envisioned by our founders.

On any given day, about 1000 visitors come through the Big Red Door of DuPage Children’s Museum and engage in three floors of open-ended activities. It is a playful, fun environment where children and the important adults in their lives learn and play together in thoughtfully planned “neighborhoods” designed to promote skill development in math, science and the arts.

Thank you for all you do!  The Museum depends on donations and sponsorships for over 40% of its budget. Your support helps make a difference in the lives of thousands of children!
