NEW! Investment in Early Learning Has An Impact on Our Community

Children grow up SO fast. There is only a short, precious window of time to stimulate young minds during the most rapid phase of brain development. At times the possibilities seem endless.  Did you know that as early as elementary school, children may have already decided against a future in math or science, not because the subjects are too hard, but because they lose confidence in their problem-solving ability. This fact could help explain the nation’s severe shortage of college math and engineering students that are needed to build our future!

DuPage Children’s Museum is all about early learning, whether it’s honing fine motor skills, strengthening estimation skills, thinking deeply discovering or solving challenges at their own pace, children who visit the Museum are learning in an environment designed to support the way they learn best.  Additionally, over 50 social service organizations such as LifeLink, HeadStart and Little Friends rely on the Museum for free admissions and programs for thousands of families each year.

Although the Museum is hugely popular, memberships and admission fees from visitors only cover 60% of the daily operating costs.  The other 40% must be covered by donations and sponsorships. As a community resource, the Museum strives to keep memberships and admission fees affordable so that ALL families have access to the resources at the Museum. Repetition builds learning and is so important for young children, so keeping pricing reasonable is important to young families.

As the end of the year approaches, the Museum is asking EVERYONE who cares about the children in our area to consider making a donation to help keep this Museum available as a resource for young children and families. Donations in any amount are a tremendously important investment in children now and will pay dividends in our community for many years to come.  Donations can be made at the Museum, by phone or via the online form at www.dupagechildrensmuseum.org/join_donor.html.  Planned and deferred gifts, annuities, bequests and such are also accepted as Museum gifts that keep giving to the lives of children.  More information is available on the web site or by phone, at 630-637-8000 ext.4550.
