Studio Drop-In Activity Theme for the Month: Shadow & Light Exploration
Today’s Studio Drop-In Activity: Black Paper on Transparencies, Art Discovery - Discover how materials can either block light or let light through by creating silhouettes on transparencies.
Studio Drop-Ins are activities in the Art Studio that are FREE to DCM members and/or with Museum admission. Pre-registration is not required.
Activities are on-going throughout each session and will explore alternating math-, science- and art-related discovery projects that support a different learning theme each month. Some sessions provide the opportunity to take something home with you.
All sessions allow you and your child the opportunity to explore and experiment with a variety of materials.

Tropical Sound Steel Drum - Steel Drum and Guitar
Playing a variety of songs from Jimmy Buffet to Bob Marley to traditional steel band songs, Dave Seagren, with his Tropical Sound Steel Pan, and Bill Czerny, with his guitar, bring the spirit and essence of the Caribbean to life. Seagren, a skilled percussionist, is able to create any mood with the help of his pan or steel drum and lofty experience. Bill Czerny, a life long musician, adds just the right flavor to Tropical Sound. Be taken to the Caribbean with the spirited essence of Tropical Sound.
