Parent Support at DCM Makes the News

Comcast Newsmakers is an award-winning news program that features elected officials, community leaders and people making a difference across Chicagoland.

Host Paul Lisnek interviewed Jayne Carpenter, Early Childhood Development Specialist, to enlighten viewers on what the Museum does on a daily and on-going basis to offer support to parents and families at DuPage Children's Museum.

In addition to sharing stories about how the Museum’s play facilitators are trained to foster the adult-child learning partnership, Jayne gave examples of the many opportunities that the Museum provides to support parents. Through the internet, parents can access the Museum’s Blog – Where Learning Comes In To Play!” to ask questions and participate in dialogs with our child development professionals. There are a wide variety of materials available on the Museum website. Just for Grown Ups presentations offer adult education opportunities for both parents and child development professionals. Jayne spoke of each of these and many more ways the Museum is an important resource for families.

Watch this lively and engaging interview to find out how DuPage Children's Museum is there for both child and their adult learning partners.

Newsmakers segments are seen twice hourly on CNN Headline News. This segment initially aired on November 24 and was repeated throughout the following month.
