DuPage Children's Museum was featured on Spotlight on Naperville: Community That Cares, a program that gives charitable and not for profit organizations an opportunity to present their awareness efforts, fundraising events, and community outreach initiatives. The interview aired in March 2008 and covered the following subjects:
NEW Math Connections Neighborhood: DCM representatives described our new displays and how they were developed using consultation with interdisciplinary experts, prototyping research and other observational techniques. Our early childhood specialist shared stories of how our young visitors are using the learning experience to build a foundation for future math success.
Back to the Future Ball: Details were shared about our annual fundraising event to be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008. At the event hosted by Chairman and CEO of the Sara Lee Corporation, Brenda Barnes, guests will feel as if they’re stepping into the movie as they’re transported back in time to the “Enchantment under the Sea” dance. This event provides substantial support to our annual operating fund and furthers our goal to provide access to the Museum for ALL families, regardless of economic status or physical ability.
Programs: DCM representatives were able to briefly explain just some of the Creativity Programs, school programs, Community Access Network outreach programs, and the many other reasons why the DuPage Children's Museum is the place where learning comes in to play™!
